The river level is as low as I have ever seen it but still flowing its way towards the Bristol Channel.

The running water is the clearest I have seen it this year and in places evidence of small fish present.

Checks on the tributary from Leigh, downstream from one of the Combined Sewer Overflows show high levels of algae and no evidence of life present.

Work is now taking place to organise detailed sample recording throughout the autumn and winter months.  Monitoring of the CSO discharges and the expected surcharging of untreated sewage through the manholes at Brister End and Brierly Hay in Yetminster.

In the coming weeks I have a meeting planned on site with the Environment Agency and we will be visiting areas along the Wriggle and discussing environmental concerns.

Thank you for your continued support. There will be a Community meeting on Friday 4th September at Yetminster , venue to be confirmed.
