One week ago this petition started with a simple aim. To stop untreated sewage being discharged into our river or allowed to flow across our roads.
Today 785 people have already stood up and said enough is enough.
That is an incredible response from our community.
But we are now so close to reaching 1,000 signatures, and with your help we can get there within the next 24 hours.
Reaching 1,000 signatures will really send a powerful message to Wessex Water, the Environment Agency, local councils and government that the people of the Wriggle Valley care deeply about our river and will not accept sewage pollution any longer.
The River Wriggle flows through Leigh, Chetnole, Yetminster, Beer Hackett and Bradford Abbas. What happens here affects communities far beyond our valley.
But for us this is also personal. It’s about the river we walk beside, the wildlife we used to see, the countryside we treasure, and the environment our children should inherit.
No community should have to accept sewage in their river or flowing across their roads.
If you have already signed, thank you.
Now please help us reach 1,000 signatures in the next 24 hours by sharing this post and asking others to sign.
