WHO'S DRIVING YOU? Demand Fingerprint Background Checks/Drug Testing for UberX Drivers

The Issue

Greater Palm Springs Locals & Visitors: Potential Public Safety is at Risk at PSP Airport

There have been at least 40 KNOWN incidents of felons found driving behind the wheel for Uber, 25 of them in California alone. Think murder, assault, rape and sexual brutal force.  These could have been prevented. Uber is sacrificing public safety by not using fingerprint background checks and random drug tests!!

Taxi cabs are required to abide by stringent safety principles and Uber should do the same.  Many California Airports and Cities across America have sent the message to Uber that they will not compromise on public safety standards. Let's do the same and not allow them to operate out of Palm Springs Airport unless they comply with these proven safety measures.

Over the last 2 years, there have been over 125 Alleged Sexual Assault and Harassment Incidents by Uber and Lyft drivers.

WHEN IS ENOUGH - ENOUGH!

Please let the Palm Springs City Council know that it's important that they join cities such as Austin, Houston and New York who require live scan fingerprint background checks and random drug/alcohol testing of UberX and Lyft drivers.

We must require TNC companies such as Uber and Lyft to require fingerprint background checks of its drivers and random drug & alcohol testing.

Locals and area visitors please join us by taking a stand and sign the petition that we will not compromise on Public Safety!!

Thank you.
