Riverside's sidewalks are often too narrow for wheelchair and stroller users to fit through. Often, there are trees planted or light posts in the middle of the sidewalk. This causes many people to use the bike lane, which leads to a higher chance of them getting hit by cars. In order to fix this, we need to petition the Riverside City Government to uphold the regulations that it has set.

I live by Jurupa Avenue and I have seen people with wheelchairs and baby strollers step into the bike lane just to be able to walk down the block time and time again. We need the full width of the current sidewalk to be accessible. Not only will this make it safer for pedestrians, this will also make it safer for cars. This is because pedestrians will be less likely to be involved in car accidents.

We need the full width of sidewalks to be safe and available to use for everyone who needs it.
