📢 Update for Residents Regarding Odour Concerns

Residents will be asked to complete a three-week diary to help identify the times, dates, frequency, and extent of the odour within their own property or garden. This information is important in helping to identify any specific issues or operations on site where possible.

Please note:
• Diaries should be completed individually, not collectively, as they must reflect each resident’s personal experience.
• When assessing whether an odour constitutes a statutory nuisance under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, several factors are considered, including frequency, duration, and the impact on the use and enjoyment of a resident’s property.
• Where evidence shows that a statutory nuisance exists, or is likely to occur, the operator can be required to take reasonable and practicable steps to address it. This may include enhanced odour mitigation measures.

Environmental Health have noted the reference to the previously installed temporary odour control unit and the reported improvement in air quality during its operation. This information is useful and will be raised with SWW.
