On March 21st 2023, my 11-month-old puppy died a tragic death. She climbed into the dryer unnoticed while my mom was doing the laundry, and was found lifeless at the bottom of the machine. If it can happen that easily to a puppy, imagine how easily it could happen to a toddler?

This type of accident can be easily prevented with the right education and the potential addition of safety technology. The number of injuries and deaths due to washing machines in children under the age of 5 is alarming. Googling this issue reveals countless horrific stories of children and animals dying due to household appliances. Losing my dog has shown me just how real this danger is.
