The Issue

On a peaceful evening in the Falls At Imperial Oaks subdivision, a horrific event unfolded in our quiet neighborhood when two pit bulls violently broke through their neighbor's fence. Tragically, these dogs entered our neighbor's home and savagely killed her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel inside the safe space of her own house. This heart-wrenching incident has left the community in shock and fear, as these dogs not only threaten the safety of their immediate victim but pose a risk to all residents and their pets in the area.

These pit bulls, residing in Birchwood Canyon, have proven to be a danger due to their aggressive behavior. It's essential to take immediate action to prevent any further attacks or loss of life within our community. Our neighborhood should be a place where families feel secure, and everyone deserves peace without the constant threat of another attack lurking at their doorstep.

Sadly, this is not just about one neighbor's loss, but about ensuring the safety of all families in our neighborhood. Statistics show that aggressive dog attacks can lead to severe injuries or even fatalities in communities. According to the National Canine Research Council, there were over 4.5 million dog bites in the United States each year, with a significant number attributed to attacks by known dangerous breeds such as pit bulls.

Therefore, we urgently call for the removal of these pit bulls from the residence they currently inhabit. We ask local authorities to intervene and take appropriate measures to rehome or otherwise secure these animals in a manner that ensures public safety. It's crucial for pet owners to be responsible and aware of the potential risks associated with certain breeds, especially when they exhibit aggression.

By signing this petition, you will help protect our neighborhood from future attacks and ensure that our community remains a safe haven for all its residents and their beloved pets. Together, we can advocate for change and uphold the values of responsibility and safety that define Falls At Imperial Oaks subdivision. Please join us in making our voices heard and preventing another tragic incident.
