Yesterday, Monday 29th December 2025, a resident’s partner was approached by a group of teenagers who attempted to assault him and steal his scooter while he was traveling home along the Royal Canal towards Ashtown.

The incident occurred between Broombridge and the 8th Lock Building. Thankfully, he managed to get away safely.

Anyone passing through this area is advised to remain vigilant and take extra care.
