Require Privacy Measures in Bayswater Waves' Shower Rooms to Protect Children

The issue

update victory thank you all!! Power of the people!

I am pleased to let everybody know that I have spoken to Dan Barber, from Bayswater waves.

changes will be made

(1) He will be looking at putting curtains up until the doors will can fitted to the shower room by no later than 25th January.

(2) They are also going to run an education program to prevent people from being naked in the changing room to expose to young children!

Ladies and gentlemen, the power of the voice and just 72 hours and we have completed protection for the children. You should all be proud of yourselves. Thank you so much. The petition was successful and I am very happy with the outcome.

Thank you Bayswater waves and the Council!

I am a survivor of sexual abuse and today, I had to bear witness to an unnerving event at Bayswater Waves. What should have been a routine visit became horrifying as naked men paraded from the changing rooms into the showers with children present. We cannot allow such a lack of privacy to persist; it is harmful and traumatising for bystanders, particularly kids.

Sadly, my experience is not an isolated incident. Research has indicated that exposure to sexual behaviors at a young age can have deep psychological impacts on children. According to the Children's Bureau, part of the Australian . Department of Health & Human Services, children who are exposed to sexual behaviors are at risk of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Therefore, we must call on the management of Bayswater Waves to proactively protect children from such exposure. A feasible and effective solution would be implementing curtains or doors in the shower rooms. Such a measure not only ensures privacy but also minimizes risk for children who utilise the facility.

As parents, guardians, and concerned citizens, it is upon us to create a safe environment for our children. We appeal to Bayswater Waves and all associated authorities to act on this matter quickly and assure the safety and well being of all their patrons, especially the children. Please join me in urging for this change. Sign this petition today.
