With great pride and joy, and a big thank you to all the supporters, I would like to share that we have had success in our goal.  At the 1/13 Plan Commission Hearing, the commissioners generally agreed that this is a fair and reasonable request and something that needs to move forward.  Despite deliberations discussing making it a policy and not a code requirement and reducing this to recommended instead of mandatory, ultimately, the plan commission agreed that it should be both mandatory and a code requirement.  The plan commission is requesting that staff and/or the village attorney work out a few items in language and make it a little more consistent with other time periods and distances in other parts of the code, so it was continued to the next meeting while they work on that.  For this provision, it appears we are going to be 100% successful in actually achieving our goal and actually formally changing the La Grange Zoning Code to help people dealing with this situation in the future.
