My petition to require petition sites to include links to read a petition, not just sign it, has reached 40 signatures but it seems to be slowing a bit, probably because I'm not very active on social media. It would be helpful if supporters could help by linking to it in their own posts.

To clarify what I'm asking for - a lot of the emails I receive from social media sites contain very brief summaries of complex issues, with a link saying something like "sign this petition". Usually this goes direct to a web page with a form to sign the petition; the petition may be lower down the page, but it isn't the first thing shown. I always want to read petitions before I sign them, and I'm often worried that the petition site may interpret the click as signing if I've previously supported other petitions.

What I would like to see is an additional link to read the petition first. Some sites do this, but it isn't universal, I think that making sure that such links are always included is good practice and would help to ensure that nobody accidentally signs a petition that they don't want to support.
