The Issue

Not even a week into the 2025 school year and there's already been a school shooting in the US. It's time the school system steps up and does something that should've been done years ago to protect our children.

America's schools should be not places where students and staff fear for their lives. According to the K-12 School Shooting Database, there were over 300 school shootings in the US in 2024 alone. This statistic should serve as a wake-up call to all educational institutions, particularly here in Fraser.

Current safety measures are not enough. By installing metal detectors at Dooley, Disney, Edison, Eisenhower, Emerson, Sulk, Twain Elementary Schools, Richard’s Middle School, and Fraser High School, we can take a significant step towards ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff. Metal detectors need to be placed to deter potential shooters, preventing weapons from entering school premises.

It's crucial for the Fraser Public Schools District to take this proactive step. Metal detectors serve as a significant deterrent, ensuring peace of mind for parents who entrust their children to these institutions every day.

We are calling on the Fraser Public Schools District to prioritize the safety of its students and staff by implementing metal detectors in all its schools. This action will protect and ease the potential fear of violence for our staff, students and families.

Sign this petition to urge Fraser Public Schools to act now. Our children's safety cannot wait.
