As loyal supporters of the Betway Premiership, we can no longer remain silent about officiating decisions that continue to undermine the integrity of our game. The conduct of referee Luxolo Badi has become a serious concern, particularly in matches involving Mamelodi Sundowns.

There is a growing and undeniable pattern in which Badi’s decisions consistently go against Sundowns. Time and again, critical calls appear to deny the team a fair opportunity to secure maximum points, directly influencing outcomes in the Betway Premiership title race. This is not about isolated incidents—it is about repeated decisions that suggest bias and raise serious questions about fairness.

The recent match against Kaizer Chiefs is a clear example. Sundowns were reduced to ten men following a questionable red card decision, while persistent fouls from Chiefs players went largely unpunished. Notably, repeated challenges involving Siphesihle Ndlovu were allowed to continue without consequence. Such inconsistency cannot be ignored—it directly affects the balance of the game.

We therefore call on the South African Football Association (SAFA) to take immediate and decisive action. Luxolo Badi must be removed from officiating PSL matches pending a full and transparent review of his conduct. Anything less will signal tolerance of questionable officiating, or worse.. being complicit.

The PSL must be a competition where results are earned on merit, not shaped by controversial decisions.
