Require INEC to assure and ensure real-time transmission of election results

The Issue

Currently, INEC in Nigeria has provided no guarantee of real-time electronic transmission of election results from polling units. This lack of transparency creates a loophole for the possibility of manual manipulation of votes, as was seen in the 2023 and previous elections. Such democratic treachery is a direct threat to our democracy, and it is unacceptable.

When electoral results are not transmitted in real-time, it undermines the credibility of the entire electoral process. It allows for post-election rigging and manipulations that defy the very essence of democracy — the power of the people to choose their leaders without interference. This democratic suppression must never be allowed to happen again.

To ensure the sanctity and integrity of our electoral process, we call on INEC and the Nigerian National Assembly to amend the existing electoral laws to include mandatory real-time electronic transmission of election results from all polling units across Nigeria. This action will ensure transparency, reduce electoral fraud, and restore public confidence in the electoral process.

Real-time transmission of election results is not just a technological upgrade; it is a step toward strengthening trust in our democracy. As a nation striving for progress and development, we must embrace transparency in our elections. The future of our country depends on it.

Sign this petition to demand that INEC and the National Assembly take immediate action to implement real-time electronic transmission of election results to protect the people's mandate and ensure a fair democratic process in Nigeria's future elections.
