Require Full Restoration of ALL Rights & Civil Liberties for Convicted Felons
The Issue
This petition calls for retroactive action that immediately restore all rights to felons.
After one's debt is repaid to society, he/she shall not be subjected to any forms of restrictions or other discriminatory policies. (Housing, Employment, Financial, Voting, Military, Firearms, etc.)
We demand America overturns all previous and/or pending State & Federal criminal charges involving felons in possession of firearms. This law was created under President Bush administration "Project Safe Neighborhoods." post 911.
As a felon, I was allowed to pay my dues to the IUE-CWA Local 86821 labor organization. As a felon, I was allowed to be the labor organization's appointed Diversity Ambassador. However, as a felon, I could not sit on the executive board after getting nominated by fellow members, to be placed on the election ballot (2020) due to Section 504 of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), which prohibits individuals convicted of certain crimes from holding union office.
If Donald Trump can still run for United States Presidency despite being convicted of 34 felonies, there shall be no private nor public employment or labor organization that call lawfully deny any felon from any form of job/career opportunities. (Housing, Employment, Financial, Voting, Military, Firearms, etc.)
We "The People" demand equal protection under the law and for the United States to put an end to this discrimination.
The 13th Amendment Section 1
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
