Require Domestic Violence Prevention and Protection Across Public Systems
The Issue
I am sick of the violence. I am sick of the silence. I am sick of watching people get offered care only after the damage is already done. That is not protection. That is not prevention. And for far too many people living with domestic abuse, every system they turn to feels like part of the same machine.
This issue does not stay inside one home. It follows people into schools, workplaces, churches, and government offices. It shapes whether someone is believed, whether warning signs are taken seriously, and whether real protection shows up before a crisis becomes tragedy. Survivors and families should not have to beg every separate institution to see what is right in front of them.
That is why I am calling for leaders across public systems to require real domestic violence prevention and protection policies, not just after-harm response. We need trauma-informed training, clear reporting pathways, fast safety planning, and coordinated action between schools, workplaces, community institutions, and public agencies. If abuse can move through every level of life, then protection has to exist at every level too.
I am asking you to stand with those who came before us, those living in it right now, and those who could be next if nothing changes. We cannot keep treating abuse like a private problem after it explodes. Please sign this petition and demand prevention, protection, and accountability before more lives are shattered.
