Require clear labelling of products harmful to pets

Require clear labelling of products harmful to pets
The Issue
I know most pet owners care about their fur-babies, but many people are unknowingly exposing their pets to products that can cause serious harm or death.
A lot of people probably aren’t aware of the dangers as the labels aren’t required to have relevant warnings.
There are currently no regulations that require warning labels to be applied to animals- only humans and environmental health. Even furniture is mentioned as a warning on many products.
Modern society requires warning labels on things that seem obviously harmful to humans which has caused people to assume a product is safe unless it states otherwise.
Some people may even look through the information on the packaging to check for warnings only to find animals not mentioned. This can lead to the assumption that the product is safe to use.
I’m sure there are many people using such products who believe their pets to be healthy but some of the chemicals build up in the animal over time and it can take many months before symptoms become apparent. One particular cleaning product states that its long term exposure to cats can cause neurological problems. This information, however, is listed in very small print on the back label and not clearly visible. Nearly all harmful products contain no information at all regarding animals.
If the manufacturers know the ingredients are harmful to pets, why don’t they include a clear warning on the packaging? Why do they include pets in their advertising?
I would really like the regulations on labelling to include animals so that pet owners can make an informed decision when choosing their products.
Raising awareness is extremely important too and if we assume every cleaning product is harmful to animals unless stated otherwise, many pets would be protected. We can only do better when we know better.
By signing this petition, you can help to ensure that pet owners are equipped with the essential information required to keep their cherished pets safe. Please join me in advocating for better labelling practices that protect our pets' well-being. Together, we can make a difference in preventing needless suffering and tragic deaths due to lack of consumer knowledge. Sign the petition and urge for change in product labelling today.
