The Issue

We, the undersigned, believe that all Canadians have the right to know what is in the food they eat.

Currently, meat, dairy, and other products from cloned animals or their offspring can enter Canada's food supply without any labeling, making it impossible for consumers to make informed choices.

While Health Canada considers foods from cloned animals "substantially equivalent" to conventionally bred animals, many Canadians are concerned about:

  • Limited long-term safety data
  • Ethical issues surrounding cloning
  • Lack of transparency and consumer choice

We call on:

  1. Health Canada and CFIA to implement mandatory labeling of all foods derived from cloned animals and their offspring.
  2. Retailers and food producers to provide clear information about whether their products come from clones or clone-derived lineages.
  3. Ongoing public consultation before further approvals or integration of cloned-animal products.

Canadians deserve transparency, choice, and ethical assurances in their food.

Sign this petition to demand that cloned-animal products and their offspring are clearly labeled, so consumers can make informed decisions about the food they eat.
