I am a humble cat owner. They call her Rosie and she is undeniably my world. I've suffered through the desolation of homelessness and have seen first-hand what it’s like for animals out there - starving and suffering, just like us humans. Back then, I would rather feed those innocent creatures with my own food.

You see, it's a harsh world for homeless animals and they largely suffer from the neglect of society. They didn't choose this; it is an ordeal that's thrust upon them. When I see an animal suffering, I see Rosie and it lashes across my heart, because pets are family too.

This is why I am seeking your help to pressurize all animal stores to donate unused animal food to shelters rather than disposing of it. It's impossible to overlook the need for such a regulation, especially when one in four dogs in the United States suffers from malnutrition. This staggering statistic reflects the grim realities these animals face daily, and the limited resources animal shelters possess in order to help them (American Veterinary Medical Association, 2018)

Humanity lies within us, in our ability to empathize and improve countless lives. Let's change the way we treat animals no longer saleable in stores. Wolf by wolf, paw by paw, we can make a difference. Please sign this petition and demand stores to donate their unused pet food to shelters.
