PM Sir MAKE Biodegradable Cutlery,Recycled Paper,Cheapr thn thr Nonbiodgrdable countrpart
The Issue
- Respected Honorable Sir,
We need to make "Biodegradable" products cheaper/low cost than their plastic counterparts.
1)Straw PRICE per PIECES-
I) Under 200 INR - we get 4 pieces of Steel Straws
ii) For 1 rupee we will get 1 Paper straw
While iii) For 2 rupees you will get 10 pieces of plastic straws. That is for 200 rupees you can get1000 pieces.
How will we switch to Biodegradable itmes when they are totally unaffordable. And plastic is way cheaper option.
2)let's look into Paper-
Talking about normal paper that is made by chopping precious trees.
A notebook costs 10 to 30 rupees but at the same time a recycled notebook costs more than 150 or even 200 rupees.
Paper made from cow dung is also expensive Mrp rate is 200 or moreper notebook .
How will we save our forests when our eco friendly paper is so expensive.
3)Now lets see Every day itmes made in plastic -
A normal toothbrush can range from 10 to 65 rupees but the Biodegradable options start from 65 rupees to 80 rupees
Coming to tiny ketchup sachets, oregano packets that are being delivered at every pizza restaurant in our country are being dumped every where. And are mostly non recyclable after how they are cut open.
4)We need to switch to Biodegradable products and make these products cheaper so anyone can buy them easily.
Our pens, pencils, shampoo bottles, soap packets, chips packet, pulses & dry spices packets, detergent packet, toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, tip of shoe laces, slippers, buckets, mugs, mobile phones, 1 liter plastic bottles are all made from plastic and these are just everyday essential items that everyone from poor to rich buys in a massive range.
Single-use plastic packaging and containers generate 300 million tons of plastic waste each year and between 4.8 to 12.7 million tons of it leaks into the ocean annually, from a variety of land-based sources like stormwater runoff, construction sites, and poor waste management systems. Moreover, nearly invisible pollution from plastic-derived chemicals and microplastics are also on the rise in the oceans.
Sir please switch all these item packaging to recycling system or a refill provision be made.
Our oceans, Streets, Rivers, food, body all are being flooded with plastic and microplastics.
Even a unborn child has microplastic present in its blood.
This is how grave the issue is.
Even our animals are dying because of it. Recently 70kg of plastic was taken out by doctors from a cow's stomach.
The sea life is suffering from our continous garbage dumping.
Lets make Biodegradable items so cheap in cost that every person whether underprivileged or privileged chooses Biodegradable item instead of the non Biodegradable ones.
