Requesting Netflix adopt an animal cruelty policy for its original content

Animal cruelty should have no place in Netflix original content. It is unacceptable for one of the largest streaming sites to capitalize on popular animal welfare films, like Okja and Racing Extinction, while producing a show with systemic cruelty in the first episode.
Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father features the main characters riding Asian elephants in the controversial King's Cup Elephant Polo, a tournament exploiting elephants imprisoned in the cruel tourist trade.
Currently, Netflix has no policy on animal cruelty when it comes to their original content. I’m calling on Netflix to change this and adopt a policy that clearly states they will not allow animal cruelty in the production of their original content.
And there is no doubt Jack Whitehall features well-documented cruelty to elephants. According to World Animal Protection, there are over 3,000 captive Asian elephants “entertaining” tourists throughout Asia. The life-long physical and psychological abuse begins with “the crush.” The process of breaking a baby elephant’s spirit with food and water deprivation, metal chains, and the bullhook (featured by trainers in the episode).
Netflix should not back content desensitizing viewers and trivializing animal abuse. Help me tell Netflix to commit to an anti-animal cruelty policy within their original content. If you agree, please sign and share this petition.
