Rather than wait until the Nov 2026 mid-term elections, in order to stop the Trump-led Republican majority in Congress from making policies that destroy the nation, we need to recruit anti-Trump Republicans into the Democratic party right now.  The ONLY WAY to do this is by recruiting Anti-Trump Republicans and flipping them into the Democratic Party with the goal of increasing the number of Democrats who oppose Trump to become the majority to finally stop Donald Trump's insane plans to ruin the US economy and the lives of everyday Americans.

      I am encouraging everyone to please reach out to the anti-Trump Republicans such as Senator Lisa Murkowski and ask them to switch political parties.  Given her recent statements about how she is afraid of retribution by Trump for standing up to him, she's the perfect candidate to convince switching political sides.

      and I encourage everyone to do the same to try to convince her to change political parties and increase the number of Democrats who oppose Trump.

Here's a reminder of how much Americans have suffered because of Trump and his Republican majority in Congress:

1) making basic everyday items no longer affordable 

2) imposing ridiculously high tariffs that force American small businesses relying on foreign goods and raw materials to go bankrupt and lay off workers

3) cutting government jobs in the Social Security and VA department that are crucial to provide basic necessities and medical treatment for our veterans, our sick, and our elderly

4) turning our closest allies like Canada, EU, South Korea, and Japan into our enemies while strengthen our biggest economic competitor (China) 

4) stripping away basic inalienable rights such as Due Process, allowing for ICE to detain US citizens

5) and finally backing a President who has consistently supported the dictator Putin in his actions of invading Russia rather than Ukraine's democracy (Remember the Republicans in Congress refused to force any of the military command to say that Putin started the war in Ukraine and that Putin and Russia are the enemy)

Personally, the actions of the Trump-era Republican Party have deeply disturbed me. The case of Juan Carlos Lopez-Gomez, a U.S. citizen who was wrongfully incarcerated by ICE despite proving his citizenship to the judge, is one example of the detrimental policies I have seen. Such transgressions on our basic rights are unacceptable in our democracy.

Additionally, Trump’s erratic and damaging tariff policies have transformed our country's close allies into opponents, while simultaneously strengthening our rivals. This approach has caused immense harm to small businesses that are unable to absorb the costs of these tariffs, as well as paved the way for exemptions for wealthy corporate entities that contributed to Donald Trump's campaign like Apple. Big Pharma, and TurboTax. 

These circumstances leave me, like many others, with a sense of frustration and fear for our future. It is time for anti-Trump Republicans to reconsider their political affiliations and join with Democrats to overcome the current Trump-led majority. By banding together, we can halt the further passage of damaging legislation that not only affects our economy but also strips away our fundamental rights.

It is crucial to remember the principles on which our great nation was founded. Our shared commitment to democracy, equality, and justice obligates us to challenge actions and policies that threaten these core values. Signing this petition is a step towards reinstating the integrity, accountability, and fairness we long to see in our Congress.
