Wizards of the Coast is releasing a unique set of cards as part of the 30th Anniversary of the game Magic: the Gathering. This set called the "30th Anniversary Countdown Kit," was to begin global pre-orders on November 1, 2022. Due to significant site problems affecting both accounts and check out, many people waited in line only to hit errors; half the site crashed at checkout or found out the allocated amount of sets were already sold out before they even got a chance to purchase.

Unlike previous Secret Lairs, this set was not print-on-demand, as many interested customers found out. Those thinking the 2-Day window announced would function as a purchase window and waited to purchase due to work or personal conflicts were left without any way to pre-order. 

The announcement and communication of how this "Special Edition" was different from other previous ones were limited, and many fans were unaware this meant they needed to prepare differently from earlier sets.

Wizards are claiming the limited set run is to ensure that these would be shipped and hopefully received before Christmas. Only a limited quantity of product was produced, creating severely limited supplies given the demand.

Many Magic the Gathering fans have now been excluded from this great product due to site issues, poor communication, and inconsistent promotion of Secret Lairs. 

We request that WOTC run a second printing of the Secret Lair "30th Anniversary Countdown Kit" with a regular Secret Lair print-on-demand pre-order period. The second Secret Lair run pre-order could be done immediately or announced with clear timelines for later this year.

It is fully understood this second run will not be printed or received until 2023. However, Wizards could consider offering a print-at-home voucher for holiday gift-giving if they wanted to be extra nice!

Fans of Magic: the Gathering and those wanting to celebrate the 30th Anniversary with this exciting Secret Lair deserve a chance to get it and not have technical glitches and miscommunication mar such a meaningful celebration.
