As passionate and proud Tesla owners in Singapore, many of us have been following the rapid development of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised), or FSD (Supervised), technology around the world.

As the technology becomes available in more markets, one question is increasingly being asked by Tesla owners here:

What is the current status of FSD (Supervised) in Singapore?

We fully recognise that Singapore maintains high standards for road safety and that the introduction of advanced driver-assistance technologies requires careful regulatory assessment. We are not asking for FSD to be approved immediately, nor are we assuming that approval is currently underway.

Instead, we respectfully seek greater clarity from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on the current situation.

Many Singapore Tesla owners currently have little information about whether FSD (Supervised) has been submitted for evaluation, whether discussions between Tesla and the relevant Singapore authorities have taken place, or what regulatory and technical requirements would need to be fulfilled before such technology could potentially be introduced here.

Greater transparency would help Tesla owners and prospective EV buyers better understand Singapore’s position as autonomous and advanced driver-assistance technologies continue to develop internationally.

What we respectfully hope LTA can clarify

We would appreciate an update, where information can appropriately be made public, on:

The current regulatory status of Tesla FSD (Supervised) in Singapore.
Whether Tesla has submitted FSD (Supervised) for evaluation or approval in Singapore.
Whether there have been discussions or engagement between Tesla and LTA or other relevant authorities regarding FSD (Supervised).
Whether any local testing, assessment or validation has taken place or is being considered.
The broad regulatory and safety requirements that a system such as FSD (Supervised) would need to satisfy before deployment could be considered.
Whether there is currently any indicative roadmap or next step that can be shared publicly.
We understand that some regulatory discussions or commercial information may be confidential, and we are not requesting information that cannot appropriately be disclosed.

Our request is simply for greater clarity on where Singapore currently stands.

Singapore has long embraced innovation while maintaining strong standards of public safety. As vehicle technology evolves rapidly, we believe greater communication about how emerging technologies are being assessed would benefit motorists, consumers and the wider public.

For existing Tesla owners, this information would also help us better understand the capabilities that may—or may not—eventually become available to vehicles we already own.

Our request is simple:

We are not asking LTA to approve FSD today.

We are asking: What is the current status, what are the requirements, and what can Singapore Tesla owners reasonably expect going forward?
