Your Eminence,

I write to you with a profound request, one made in the spirit of faith, conviction, and love for the Church. The tragic death of Charlie Kirk, born in Arlington Heights and known worldwide for his fearless defense of truth, life, freedom and faith, has deeply moved countless Christian people across America and beyond.

Though not a member of the Catholic Church, Charlie lived and spoke in defense of values that lie at the heart of our Christian witness: the dignity of human life, the defense of faith, the protection of family, and the courage to speak truth in the face of hostility. His untimely death, believed by many to have been motivated by hatred of his witness, bears the hallmarks of martyrdom in spirit if not formally within the visible bounds of the Catholic Church.

We humbly ask Your Eminence to prayerfully consider petitioning the Holy See for an extraordinary papal exception to open a cause for canonization. While canon law ordinarily requires baptism in the Catholic faith, history reminds us that the Church has sometimes recognized extraordinary lives and deaths outside those boundaries, particularly where hatred of Christ and His truth were clearly at work.

We believe that Charlie Kirk’s sacrifice and his witness in life have already borne much fruit, and many faithful are beginning to pray for his intercession. It is our hope that the Church will discern these signs carefully, and we entrust this process to your pastoral judgment and leadership.

Respectfully and prayerfully,
