Our lives hold precious value that can't be replaced. As residents of the Easton Rd Fairhill Ave community, we witness close calls almost daily where cars speed up and down Easton Rd., neglecting the safety of pedestrians and even Crossing Guards. This reality hits home, as our children also navigate this hazardous crossing. Easton Rd and Fairhill Ave are much more than a meaningless crossing. These intersections serve as passageways for church goers, school children, shoppers, and commuters. Residents from the nearby large apartment complex too depend on this crossing frequently. It is disconcerting that such a busy crossroad lacks appropriate safety measures.

The installation of a flashing light pedestrian crossing can significantly enhance safety. Research indicates that pedestrians are more likely to be seen in a flashing light crossing than its non-flashing counterpart. The crash rate can reduce by as much as 25.2% when these safety measures are installed (source: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Imagine how many lives can be potentially saved and injuries prevented with this preventive measure.  It's time to prioritize safety. It's time for action.
