When we send our kids off to school we believe they are in the best hands. The hands of people who are looking out for them and protecting them. For the most part this is always true. However, with Shelly Philbrick, I do not feel this is the case. Recently she voiced how she wanted a judge to have leniency on Kristie Torbick, a guidance counselor who plead guilty to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student on multiple occasions. She showed she was more concerned about this woman than the 14 year old victim by telling a judge that “she(Kristie Torbick) has also suffered by losing her reputation, credentials, and dignity”. This makes me question her judgement. What other situations might she have questionable judgement with our children? How can we trust she will do what’s right for our kids? Please join me by signing this petition and let Shelley Philbrick know we would like her to resign from her guidance counselor position at NRHS.
