As deeply concerned parents whose children attend Larne High School, we are stepping forward to disclose the severe shortcomings of the school's administration under Dr. Reid. Our children have endured harsh conditions, such as freezing classrooms due to broken heating systems, and they've been reprimanded for dressing appropriately in response to the chill. We are distressed by the disregard for their basic sanitary needs, with students unable to avail themselves of restroom facilities and cameras in Alarming instances of elusive policies leading to unfair suspensions have been witnessed, sowing seeds of distrust amongst the students. 

A personal note that particularly pained us was when my daughter was bullied  Months of torment led to a severe downturn in her mental health. In our quest to provide her a safer environment, we had no choice but to remove her from the school. Upon attempting to re-enroll her after seeking help, we were unjustly informed that the school had no room. However, the education board confirmed that there was space. 

These are not conditions under which children should learn, grow, or thrive. The negative impacts on their mental and physical health are inexcusable realties that directly contradict the purpose of a school's existence. We believe the first step towards meaningful change is a fresh start with a new principal who will prioritize our kids' welfare.

We appeal to the relevant school board and authorities to relieve Dr. Reid of his duties and to initiate a thorough search for a new, competent, and empathetic principal. Make this action your signature - sign this petition to instigate critical changes at Larne High School.
