We, the undersigned residents of Vermillion County, Illinois, believe that Bresee Tower, located at 4 N. Vermilion Street in Danville Illinois, has languished for decades and currently poses a public safety concern. We also believe that the leaders of the City of Danville have an obligation to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars and should, therefore, make tax dollar expenditure decisions after careful, thoughtful, and thorough consideration.
 The undersigned residents of Vermillion County, Illinois, call on the Mayor and City Council to consider all possible options that could address the public safety concerns posed by Bresee Tower. Demolition is one strategy. Redevelopment, in lieu of demolition, is a different strategy that could address the current public safety concerns. As such, before committing over $3 Million of taxpayer funds for demolition and to ensure that all possible options for
the property are considered, we call on the City of Danville to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to seek redevelopment
options for Bresee Tower.
