Petitioning Shropshire Council North Planning Committee

Request that Shropshire Council withdraw proposals to build houses alongside Old Oswestry Iron Age Hillfort

Old Oswestry Iron Age Hillfort is the best preserved Iron Age Hillfort in Britain. It has design features which are un-paralleled. It remains the jewel in Oswestry's crown, an under-valued heritage asset and the old ancient heart of the town. Rather than build modern houses in its shadow, we should look at developing this heritage asset for the town and visitors to appreciate for generations to come.

Letter to
Shropshire Council North Planning Committee
I'm writing to ask you to reconsider the potentially damaging SAMDev (Site Allocations and Management of Development Plan) proposal to build houses alongside Old Oswestry Iron Age Hillfort and to look for more appropriate solutions. We are all mere custodians of this precious ancient monument and future generations will thank us for standing back and making a decision that fully respects our heritage.
