As a grief-stricken mother, my heart shatters recounting the incident involving my son's overdose. I was out of town, and my step daughter Rania called me, terrified. In dire need of help, we reached out to the law enforcement. Michael Sanders, a police officer in Caruthersville, MO was the first to respond who was know to fabricate stories on my son already and others. Rather than showing concern for a life on the line, Sanders aggressively arrested my son without knowing what he had overdosed on, prioritizing a $60 fine over his professional duties. It then made the sister upset. Who are we to call on when we have angry police officers working like that.. Again he has been known to fabricate stories on my son and others. He’s known to harass the citizens also. My son being one of the many. 

Officer Sanders' behavior was not just a one-off incident. He has a dubious history of making false accusations, and harassing innocent people, tainting the reputation of law enforcement in our community. Being a police officer requires respect, honesty, and dedication to service — values that Officer Sanders has consistently shown to disregard. His position, therefore, risks the safety and justice system of our district.

Our plea concerns more than a personal story, it has become a community issue. We must ensure that the law enforcement officers assigned to protect us, do so with integrity and compassion. This is our plea for justice. Our aim is to see Michael Sanders step down from his position as a police officer in Caruthersville, MO due to his repeated misconduct.
