As a 20-year veteran of the United States Army and a participant in over 50 months of deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the Global War on Terrorism, I know the profound significance of leadership. Every success or failure of a team is a reflection of its leadership, an understanding deeply ingrained in my principles of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Therefore, it's without a doubt that I believe Kimberly Cheatle, in her capacity as Director of the U.S Secret Service, is failing to uphold her responsibility effectively. The events on the 13th of July, 2024, underscore this lack of effective oversight.

The Secret Service plays an invaluable role in safeguarding our nation's democracies and the well-being of world leaders who visit. They handle matters as sensitive as protecting candidates and nominees to ensure the integrity of U.S. elections. They also secure key facilities and national-level events, all of which demand undeterred leadership competency. Given this, any deficiency in leadership can have serious consequences on national, even international, security. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that the individual at the helm performs their duties with integrity and competence.

In light of the above, I respectfully formulate this petition to request Kimberly Cheatle's resignation from her position as the Director of the Secret Service. This is not an act of malice, but one out of concern for our country, its leaders, its people, and its future. I urge everyone who shares this viewpoint to sign this petition.
