The scale of civilians displaced, injured and dead in Gaza is staggering. Israel's government repeatedly claims that missions are targeting only Hamas. This reason has been cited for bombing hospitals, schools, residential areas and tent camps. Given that thousands are dying there should be accountability to prove that these are legitimate targets and that every precaution has been taken to minimise the harm on civilians.  So far I have seen no credible evidence, only words.

This petition is to urge parliament to debate a requirement for Israel's government to be held accountable for providing evidence that there has been genuine Hamas infrastructure in the places where civilians are being displaced and harmed. At present it seems there is nobody asking for this evidence and none available. 

If no evidence is provided then I propose that no further arms be given or sold to Israel for defence until they agree traceability of when and where the weapons are used and evidence that the targets posed a legitimate threat to their security and further that realistic efforts are being made to ensure civilians are not harmed. I propose a UK government appointed person be present at Israeli military briefings when any weapon from the UK is bring used.

This petition is not religious or favouring any religion or lack of. The petition is out of concern that people are being harmed in numbers disproportionate to any threat to Israel's security and that weapons from the UK could be complicit in war crimes and potentially genocide.
