The Issue

The members and supporters of IBEW Local 332 are calling upon the leadership of IBEW Local 332 and the Electrical Training Alliance of Silicon Valley (ETASV) to urgently initiate a formal review of widely circulated social-media footage potentially implicating John David Escobedo in conduct unbecoming of our values and standards.

The footage, which has been viewed extensively in the San Jose community, seemingly captures Mr. Escobedo involved in actions that include damage to another person’s property and making inflammatory comments about immigration status. These actions, if verified, are not only contrary to the moral framework upon which our union is based but also threaten the safe, inclusive environment we strive to uphold and foster within our ranks. Moreover, the footage conspicuously depicts Mr. Escobedo in apparel recognized by Local 332 members, an association that raises further concern about the potential reflection on our collective reputation.

This petition seeks a thorough and fair inquiry by IBEW Local 332 and ETASV into the events depicted in the footage. Should the investigations substantiate these actions, we request appropriate measures be taken, which may include sanctions or removal from official duties, to preserve the integrity and trust of our esteemed organization. It is imperative to assess whether Mr. Escobedo's actions align with our mission of advocating for workers while respecting the diverse fabric of our communities.

We understand that every individual has a right to due process, hence why a formal review is essential. By addressing this matter with transparency and equitability, we reinforce our commitment to justice and stand firmly against any form of behavior that disrespects our union's history of solidarity and inclusion.

In signing this petition, you endorse a process that is not only about accountability but also an affirmation of our union’s principles and the protection of our community's future. We urge all Local 332 members, ETASV affiliates, and the greater Silicon Valley community to join this call for a disciplined and honest examination of the allegations against John David Escobedo. Please sign this petition to help us promote a work environment based on respect, integrity, and inclusivity.
