Request for the Removal of Kennedy Bartley as Managing Deputy of External Relations
The Issue
As a former mayoral candidate and a committed advocate for unity in our beloved city, I write this on behalf of United For A Better Chicago, an organization committed to improving the lives of everyday Chicagoans. I along with many of you share a deep concern over the current state of affairs in the city where we live and work.
I launched United For A Better Chicago in 2024 to work with city and community leaders to support initiatives and policies that improve the overall quality of life for everyday Chicagoans. UFABC is committed to working with everyone across the political/social/business spectrum with the goal of moving the city forward.
It pains me to bring attention to Kennedy Bartley's rhetoric which has often proven to be inflammatory, anti-Semitic, and at times, anti first responder. This kind of discourse has led to a deepening divide in the city, particularly along racial lines. https://shorturl.at/YQUTm
Indeed, her vitriolic comments are not just divisive, but also harmful, fanning the flames of division at a time where unity should take precedence.
We believe that we should be bridging those divides rather than creating new ones. We should be looking for common ground rather than constructing new and racially charged barriers. It is a critical period for all Chicagoans and it's paramount that we stand united, working together to seek solutions that ensure the safety and well being of every resident of Chicago.
Considering the concern that many Chicagoans feel about his Managing Director of External Relations, we call upon Mayor Brandon Johnson to remove Kennedy Bartley from her position. By doing so, it shows the leadership that the city needs from his office, demonstrating his commitment to a zero tolerance policy of hateful rhetoric from his administration staffers.
Let's all commit to the common goal of unifying and working together as we build a better Chicago.
I ask you to stand with me and the city that we love and call home and sign this petition.
