Request for Technical Audio Fix for the Springtrap Killer and Security Camera DBD
The issue
The Objective:
To ensure that all survivors have access to reliable and consistent audio cues when playing against Springtrap (The Animatronic), maintaining the high standard of competitive fairness expected in Dead by Daylight.
Current Challenges:
Audio Consistency: There is a documented directional audio discrepancy that occurs after survivors interact with the security camera mechanic. This often results in "flipped" or muffled audio, making it difficult to track the killer’s approach on open & closed maps.
Sound Footprint Uniformity: Currently, different skins—specifically the Glitchtrap Legendary Skin—feature footstep audio that varies in volume and texture compared to the base model. To ensure a level playing field, all cosmetics for a specific killer should ideally share a unified audio footprint.
Visual Transition Stability: Reports of delayed visibility when the killer exits security doors can lead to unintended stealth encounters that bypass standard gameplay warnings.
Proposed Solutions:
We respectfully ask the Behaviour Interactive Development Team to:
- Synchronise Audio Cues: Implement a fix to ensure that 3D directional audio remains stable and accurate throughout the entire match, regardless of camera usage.
- Standardise Footstep Volume: Adjust all Springtrap cosmetics to ensure consistent audio levels, removing any unintentional gameplay variance between different skins.
- Improve Patch Transparency: Provide regular updates via the Official Dead by Daylight Forums regarding the progress of these specific audio and visual refinements.
