Request for School Zone or Safety Signage at Plato Academy Pinellas Park

The Issue

On behalf of concerned parents at Plato Academy Pinellas Park, we are reaching out to advocate for stronger safety measures for our students. The traffic along 49th Street in front of the school poses daily challenges during arrival and dismissal, and we believe additional protections are needed to keep our children safe.

We respectfully ask that the area be designated as a school zone for at least 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon. This would provide a safer environment for students, families, and staff during the busiest times of day.

If a school zone is not possible, we kindly request that the City consider installing a yellow flashing school entrance sign at the school entrance, which could be activated during car line to alert drivers to use extra caution.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and your ongoing commitment to student and community safety. Thank you for considering this request on behalf of our children.

With gratitude,

Concerned Parents of Plato Academy Pinellas Park
