Request for Reconsideration of R-2 Rezoning Development Decision in Prince George County

The Issue

This petition is an urgent appeal from the residents of Brickhouse Landing in Prince George County, Virginia, against the Board of Supervisors' (BOS) decision on 28 January 2025. The decision permits the R-2 rezoning development on 61 +/- acres of land on the north side of Middle Road (Route 646), along Longwood Drive in the Bland Magisterial District of Prince George County. This land includes six existing parcels: 130(0A)00-002-0, 130(A)00-002-A, 130(A)00-002-B, 130(A)00-002-C, 130(A)00-003-0, and part of 130(A00-026-A, allowed to Mr. Dino Lunsford. Development of these parcels in the discussed manner may lead to the loss of natural habitats and disturb the existing ecosystem. A study shows that 60% of species are more likely to disappear with an increase in urban development (Source: National Geographic). We request the authorities to reconsider this resolution, review the ecological impacts and water drainage issues, and protect the interests of the residents and natural life forms in the region. Sign our petition and join us in safeguarding our community, environment, and life.
