The Issue

On behalf of several parents in our school community, we would like to request additional support for students enrolled in Accelerated Math.

Many families have shared that while Edgenuity is a useful resource, it has been difficult for students to stay serious and fully engaged in this format. Math, especially at an accelerated level, requires structured instruction and guided explanation, which is hard to replicate in a self-paced online program.

We kindly ask the school to consider offering in-person sessions for Accelerated Math. Even if daily classes are not possible due to teacher availability, having at least a weekly one-hour session for each section—led by a teacher—would make a tremendous difference. This would allow students to review lesson plans, ask questions, and strengthen their understanding under a teacher’s guidance.

We also understand that in previous years, Accelerated Math students gathered in the MPR for group instruction. A similar setup could provide structure and motivation, helping students thrive in this challenging program.

As parents, our shared goal is to ensure that our children receive the strong foundation they need to succeed in math. We truly appreciate all the efforts the school and district make for our students, and we hope this request can be considered for the benefit of our children’s learning experience.
