The blue tones create a sterile atmosphere that detracts from the cosy vibes that are integral to the show's appeal. This issue is particularly noticeable during colder and darker months, when viewers seek warmth and comfort in their television viewing experiences.

According to a study published in Lighting Research & Technology, warmer lights can enhance feelings of comfort and relaxation. Therefore, by shifting towards more ambient and warmer lights, Channel 4 could greatly improve viewer experience.

Moreover, considering the well-being of participants is crucial. The stark brightness could potentially cause discomfort for our favourite Gogglebox characters - something no fan wants for their favourite personalities.
