Growing up between the 1960s and 1990s, CBC Kids' classics like "Mr. Dressup," "Friendly Giant," and "Fred Penner's Place" were cornerstones of our childhood. These programs were more than just entertainment; they imparted invaluable life lessons, fostered imagination, and helped shape the cultural fabric of Canada. But somewhere along the line, CBC's beloved classics were replaced with what many parents fear is overly stylized, substance-lacking programming often criticized as "ADHD-inducing slop."

Reintroducing these nostalgic yet timeless programs on CBC could serve as an invaluable educational tool that nurtures creativity, empathy, and genuine joy—qualities largely absent in modern digital content. These classic shows not only entertain but also teach kindness, collaboration, and problem-solving in simple, relatable ways.

Research shows that early exposure to quality educational content can lead to better academic performance, enhanced social skills, and improved emotional well-being. By bringing back these shows, CBC would heed the growing desire among Canadian voters for programming that adds value to their children's lives rather than detract from it.  And analogue is cool with the young kids!

CBC has the unique opportunity to leverage its extensive archives to reconnect with audiences across generations. Kids growing up today deserve the same chance to experience these Canadian cultural treasures.
