Our neighbourhood is home to many dogs in all sizes who would love the opportunity to socialize and play in a safe, designated area. As residents of Burnaby Heights, we see the joy that our pets bring into our lives every day. However, there's one thing missing - a dedicated play area for small dogs.

Willingdon Heights Dog Park is centrally located and easily accessible for many residents. Yet, it lacks a specific area where small dogs can run free and interact with each other. 

By having a designated small dog area within the park, we can provide an essential service for all dogs in all sizes - promoting a safe environment to socialize and overall well-being among pets while fostering community spirit among residents. All dogs should be able to enjoy the park without owners worrying about the safety or needing to check whether the dogs currently in the park is too big or small before entering.

We urge the city of Burnaby to consider this proposal seriously. Let's make the Willingdon Heights Dog Park more inclusive by establishing a designated space where all members of our community – including those on four legs – can enjoy their time outdoors safely and freely.
