When Edward Bulwer-Lytton famously coined the phrase "the pen is mightier than the sword", he clearly understood the power of words. To some the use of the word Migrant or Refugee may seem trivial, but the tremendous response to the petition so far clearly shows that there are many who acknowledge the harm being done today. Of course, the broader issues are much more complex and will require more than just finding the right way to report on events, but only by doing so can we hope to properly understand the problem and begin down the road to finding a real and humane solution - not just bigger fences and more tasers.
