Due to the nationwide epidemic and outbreak of severe random violence in our schools, communities and households nationwide, it it the opportune time to promote a nationwide campaign that is effective, positive, builds character and promotes peace and unity in our families and communities.  At the James E. Davis Foundation, this is our goal. Your signing this petition will reinforce the publics view that there is an urgent need for change. This petition will be forwarded to your local politicians on a city, state and federal level.  Please pass this on to others so that we may accumulate as many signatures as possible. JAMES E. DAVIS LOVE YOURSELF STOP THE VIOLENCE FOUNDATIONPetition StarterWhen two children in the New York area were shot (one fatally) by police officers who mistook their toy guns for real weapons, James E. Davis took action. Like David, in the Biblical story of David and Goliath, James E. Davis, armed with his heart and shielded by his courage, went up against a powerful giant called Capitalism. With the help of Michael Goldstein, the chairman and former CEO of Toys “R” Us who made the decision to stop selling “lookalike” toy guns, James E. Davis showed America that the safety of our children was more important than profit. Our organization’s focus is not limited to our annual Stop the Violence march. We also hold: * conflict resolution and teenage drug prevention seminars * domestic violence intervention and counseling * youth mentoring programs * diversity interaction seminars * memorial services for victims of violence
