My granddaughter had a problem whilst out riding her horse trying to cross the A18 out of a blind spot when the horse was unable to see oncoming traffic and ended up in front of a car which, fortunately, wasn’t travelling too fast at that time. This really highlighted the problem for horse riders, carriage drivers, walkers, cyclists and drivers trying to cross this busy road. 

We urgently need a ‘SAFE’ crossing place for all who follow the bridleway travelling to and from Ravendale and Ashby Cum Fenby which entails crossing over the major trunk road the A18, Barton Street. The current situation poses significant risks due to limited visibility and high-speed traffic. The A18 is notoriously dangerous, I brought this to the attention of the Bridleways officer 2 years ago who has passed it on to the transport department who in turn, have promised some horse warning signs in the next month, what we really need is a horse specific crossing ‘PEGASUS’ to ensure all can cross safely.
