We're the Class 12 students from Nepal and we've been seriously let down. We are victims of an educational system that prioritizes its reputation over our futures. The recent rush to publish exam results has left many of us feeling wronged, due to errors and a lack of thorough checking. The drive to present the Nepali education system as "advanced" has come at our expense, sacrificing accuracy and fairness.
Over the years, exams have been a benchmark for students across the world, providing a fair assessment of our knowledge and potential. In Nepal, however, we have found that the outcomes do not reflect our true abilities. The hasty evaluation and marking process resulted in unjust scores. The errors in our results affect our chances of getting into good colleges or even pursuing certain career paths.
Therefore, we urge the concerned Nepali authorities to take immediate action in remedying this injustice. We propose two clear, actionable solutions:
1. Republish the Class 12 exam results with improved checks and a transparent process to ensure fairness and accuracy. It’s essential that each paper is evaluated with the attention each student deserves.
2. Make the process of rechecking and retotalling far more accessible and affordable for all students. Current fees are a barrier to many, preventing us from seeking rightful justice for the inaccuracies in our scores.
According to reliable sources, education systems that are transparent and student-centered result in higher levels of student satisfaction and better performance. Many nations are moving toward systems that are student-centric, and it is high time Nepal follows suit.
