A ASMAA avisa que cancelou a manifestação planeada para o dia 21 de Dezembro em frente a Assembleia da República contra os furos em Bajouca e Aljubarrota e de apoio às várias propostas do BE, Verdes e PAN que vão ser debatidas em planeário a partir das 10h00 da manhã.
A razão para o cancelamento deve-se ao facto de que devido à manifestação dos “Coletes Amarelos” planeada para o mesmo dia, muitos dos accessos a Lisboa vão estar condecionados. Como é o caso da Ponte 25 de Abril, a A8 de Leiria a Lisboa, etc.

ASMAA informs you that we have canceled the manifestation planed for Saturday 21 December in front of Portuguese Parliament.
The manifestation had been called in support of motions submitted by three parties which has a direct impact on the drilling planned by Australis for Bajouca and Aljubarrota, as well as the cancellation of contracts for oil drilling in Portugal, and a proposed amendment to the law.
The reason for cancellation is due to the fact that another manifestation will be held on the same day (Yellow Jackets) which will have a direct impact on access roads to Lisbon. Such as the Bridge 25 April, the A8 from Leiria to Lisbon, etc.

But I now want to share a problem with you.
It is always challenging and soul destroying when we at ASMAA can't afford to pay what we have to pay by the due dates. Once again we face the same situation and our bank is down to its last few Euros.
Thousands of people in Portugal and across Europe use our website for up to date information and to keep abreast of what is happening in our beautiful country; many of you sign petitions; and you all know that we are acting on the best interests of the collective - which includes YOU and YOUR LOVED ONES.
You all also know that we are fighting for all of you in court, against a government and interested parties that have deep pockets. But we battle on, in an endeavor to stop offshore and onshore drilling in Portugal, because if it goes ahead it will change all of our lives for ever.
But the reality is that less than 3% of you donate to keep it all happening.
This year has been a massive challenge to cover all costs that we have incurred, and we know that next year is not going to be any better. But the reality is that we have still so much work to do to protect the things that matter to all of us.
So I want to take one last chance in 2018 to ask you to help out.
How much should you donate? We leave it to you to decide, based on how important this risk is to you and to your family, as well as what you can spare from your budget.
If you can’t assist, its ok, then we request that you ask your circle of friends and family members if they can help with a small donation each.

6 years ago I helped start ASMAA because I truly believe that the future of Portugal is too important to leave to politicians and the big businesses that keeps them in power. Especially as it is clear each and everyday that many of our politicians continue to act against the will of the people.
Now more than ever, we can't afford to be bystanders. We need to stand up for what's right, together, even when it’s hard.
If everyone who is benefiting from ASMAA's work, not only these that carries the banner of our work and supports us month after month, but if everyone else, just gave a small donation today, we can keep campaigning and fighting to protect the things that matter to ALL of us for many more years.
We are a registered non-profit. We are probably one of the few truly independent NGO's in Portugal. We don’t have rich donors or big business sponsors. But our work has many needs, from paying legal teams, to paying experts, or paying for research, etc ... and our needs are constantly growing. To give you an example, shortly we will need more powerful IT technology and we will have to find the money to pay for it, etc.
But we don't forget, that it has been with the support of people like you that we have managed to do all that we have done. And I'm glad that in spite of the challenges, we have done a tremendous amount of good and successful work.

P.S. It might feel like you’re receiving a lot of emails from us asking you to chip in to keep ASMAA going. And I personally know how emails can be a pain (I receive hundreds everyday myself)!
The reason we keep asking is that ASMAA is funded by small donations from people like you. We rely on people like you to say you’ll chip in whenever you can.
We haven't got big donors like governments, big businesses or foundations giving us loads of funds, just the 3% of people who feel they are a part of ASMAA and who choose to give.
