Replant Cut Down Trees on Gadebridge Road on Coles Hill Corner, Hemel Hempstead

The Issue

As a resident on Gadebridge Road, witnessing the removal of long-standing trees has been a disheartening experience. These trees offered privacy for our homes and have stood tall for years, providing a sense of tranquility and natural beauty to our streetscape. They have been an integral part of our lives for years, presenting a peaceful and natural privacy barrier between our homes and contributing not only to the green space but also to our quality of life.

While we can understand safety measures, we firmly believe in the restoration of what was taken from us and the environment. With the global call to reduce carbon emissions, the removal of these trees is a step in the wrong direction. Replanting will not only restore the beauty of Gadebridge Road but will also contribute to our community's effort to combat climate change. Worldwide, trees play a significant role in urban areas, not only contributing to the environmental aspect by absorbing carbon dioxide and other harmful gases but also by enhancing the mental wellbeing of residents.

Leaving this space so open will also urge certain residents to park on that grassy land, completely destroying the ground, turning our once lovely corner into a scrap yard, bringing down the overall appearance of the street and devaluing the homes surrounding it.

Sadly, our privacy and view has already been taken away but please sign this petition to urge the local authorities to replace the felled trees on Gadebridge Road, on the corner of Coles Hill with young sapling trees, plants and life and bring back some beauty to this corner.
