The Creative Industries’ (CRI) student lounge at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) is a place where students gather to study, chit-chat, and relax. However, the current state of the lounge is far from inviting.

The couch, which should be a symbol of comfort, is unfortunately peeling- making it look rather unappealing. This not only diminishes the room’s aesthetic appeal but also our lounge experience. I myself find myself avoiding it by choosing other places to study when this is a space that should be one of my top choices. 

We as CRI students deserve better. A better couch, to be specific. A well-maintained space should be a priority for TMU as it directly affects student morale and productivity.

This petition aims to encourage the administration at TMU to allocate resources toward upgrading the lounge, starting with this dehydrated couch. By doing so, TMU will not only improve the space but also reinforce its reputation as a leading institution that cares for its student community.
