Yet, the choice of 'Mr. Brightside' by The Killers as a staple song at our games has come to feel out of sync with this spirit, particularly in light of recent events.

The 'Sherrone Moore saga' has left a significant impact on our campus and its community. Given these circumstances, it's time to reassess our gameday soundtrack to better reflect the unity and resilience that our university stands for. Many believe that 'Mr. Brightside' no longer represents the values we hold dear, and while it is a catchy tune, its narrative of jealousy and betrayal strikes a discordant note with our desire to foster community and positivity.

We propose selecting a new song that resonates more deeply with our communal values, highlights our pride in the university, and enhances the gameday experience. A song that represents triumph, resilience, and the power of unity would better inspire our players and fans alike. Michigan has a rich tradition of music and spirit songs, and it’s within our reach to find or create an anthem that embodies the true spirit of the Wolverines.
